It's difficult to tell genuine starts from people lucky-guessing the start (yours was a lucky guess, right?)
Naturally.. I went with my internal bpm counter that take rather than my eyes..
Got caught out next try once the delay was longer!

Is the last wait random? Is it random in F1? If not, what prevents drivers to have a device inside which informs a bit faster?
The wait is random, and it's random in F1. I'm not sure if I'm using the same random parameters though.
It's easier to cheat in the app when you can restart the process zillion times. Doesn't work in F1 I guess :D

Taking practice out of the equation, I think most people's reaction time is very similar. David Epstein talks about it in 'The Sports Gene'
I helped myself by displaying randomized delay in console and then counted to 2868ms in my head :P
